a Perverse and not politically correct BED TIME STORY to give you nightmares. I am a bit of a contrarian and I am sure I reacted intensely in a similar manner when as a little girl I first read (OR WAS TOLD) the Princess and the Pea story by Hans Christian Andersen This fantasy rich Pisces native was the author but it’s possible he was influenced by a Kashmiri tale of the 11th century in which the fussy royal connection was a group of men!(for more info look at the link of post from squirrel basket blog on wordpress) The moral was similar. the rich and well connected are naturally demanding and discerning about bedtime.Superior even when lying down.

I don’t have a posh bed but for my two princesses  who are now 21 and 15 respectively, I bought old fashioned four-poster beds. It could be because I had to flee my house in  occupied (by Turkey) Cyprus and live in a semi-occupied war torn island since. IN THE WRONG HALF !

This choice of the regal luxury of girly beds  is also down to my character. I want to give my kids what I didn’t have growing up! Another fact that was at play is our architect’s creation of above average BIG bedrooms. How to make them more cozy? Put big, dramatic beds for a more cosy feel esp if there are Indian swaths of material draping over the sky of the bed or whatever the roof of the bed is called.

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A FOUR POSTER BED TO CREATE A ROMANTIC PRINCESS AND THE PEA ATMOSPHERE in this Greek home! The final touch is an ecological mattress made of healthy natural materials! I hope you agree!

Otherwise, such childhood fairy tales as the one mentioned above are perverse!  Yes! Totally and educationally inappropriate.A politically incorrect Chernobyl, in fact!
